The Flexible Flyer

Gino and I found this geocache, called The Flexible Flyer, at the bottom of a giant sledding hill on Main Street in Moorestown. The hill was cool, but the way back up was tough! Gino's tiny legs got tired, so he made me carry him up the hill. Needless to say I was ready for a nap when we finally got back to the car!

This picture is of the travel bug Zaphod. Gino liked the little guy and decided to take him. We'll be helping move this thing along very soon...

Moorestown / Mt. Laurel Geocaching

I had some time to myself this afternoon, so I planned out a route that would take me from Moorestown to Mt. Laurel where I picked up several geocaches.

These pictures are of the geocache Not many pine trees back here... and the surrounding woods.

This is a picture of the Travel Bug Locker Key. I took this from the cache and I'll put it in another sometime soon.

These two pictures are from Strawbridge Cache. It was a nice place to go, but I didn't find the container for this one. Maybe the trees were interefering with the GPS signal too much...

This picture is of the cache container from Don't Forget To Sign The Log. This one was two parts, and in the first container were coordinates to the second. It was a nice walk around Strawbridge Lake in Moorestown.

This is a picture of the geocache BB Fast Cache. It was one of those tiny little magnetic nano cache containers. This one was hidden under a light post in a parking lot.

These 2 pictures are from the geocache Wubba. It was hidden near the pond right by the intersection of Hartford Rd and Union Mill Road. It was easy to find, but pretty muddy from all the rain.

This picture is of the cache called Trotter's Crossing. It's a plastic peanut butter jar with camo tape all around it. It was hidden inside an old dead tree. I almost didn't find it because you had to reach your hand way up inside the hollow part of the tree to grab the jar.

These two pictures are from the geocache Almost to the end... It was hidden in the woods bordering some soccer fields just off Briggs Road in Mt. Laurel. It's a nice park and there's some good trails through these woods.

Also in those same woods off Briggs Road was another geocache called Rocket Graveyard. This one was actually easier to find than the other.

Is It Really Scenic

On my way home from a meeting in Trenton, I stopped at the scenic overlook on Route 295 to make a quick grab of the geocache Is It Really Scenic?. It was a cold and windy day, but the view was nice.

Taking The Long Way

I finished work early today and decided to take a roundabout way to Maple Shade to get the kids. Along the way I stopped for a few geocaches

These 2 pictures are of the geocache Up, Up, and Away. It was a really interesting way to hide a cache. It was actually tied to a string and hanging at the top of a pretty high flag pole. You had to pull the string to lower the container. I had a lot of fun with this one. My GPS had me walking around in circles for several minutes before I figured it out...


The next geocache I looked for was called The Alice Paul Institue. I didn't find it, but it was still a nice historical place to visit right off Route 38 on the border of Moorestown and Mt. Laurel.

The last geocache today was one called Gnarly. It was hidden inside a hole in a truly gnarly tree in Strawbridge park. It was easy enough to find since that was the only gnarled tree anywhere around and there's only so many holes in it. I had to take the container back to the car to sign the log because there were several people wandering about and jogging through the park.

Geocaching in Maple Shade

Sarah and I left work early today and took the long way across Maple Shade to get the kids. We looked for 2 geocaches but only found one.

The first cache we looked for was Every Cache Needs A Park. We didn't find this one, and we were both looking for almost 15 minutes. It was starting to get really chilly, and we were losing light, so we gave up one this one for today...

The second one we looked for was Above The Flood. We found this one. It was in the woods next to the bridge right on the border of Camden County on Main Street in Maple Shade. This cache was a big one, an old ammo box.

We took out a little blue lizard and gave it to Gino, and we left a crushed penny from Dutch Country, one of the ones from those machines that crush the pennies into an oval shape.

Geocaching in Cherry Hill

I finished work early today and decided to do a little geocaching with the rest of the afternoon.

I stopped by the Cherry Hill Covered Bridge spot for the third time in three months, and this time, finally, I found it. I gave the compass keychain to Gino and we put in the gold token.

Another one I found today was called A Maze 'n Trek. It was in the woods behind the soccer fields just off Brace & Kresson. There was nothing inside that suited Gino so we took nothing and left nothing.

The first part of a multi-cache was also in that maze behind the soccer fields. This one was called Jurassic Park. The cache container had alternate coordinates inside it that led to the house with the dinosaur statue in the picture. It's actually a really cool looking sculpture and the picture doesn't do it justice.

Mikey Made Me Do It

Geocaching in Audubon on the way to Walmart. I didn´t want to go shopping in the first place, so stopping off for a quick find was Sarah´s way of bribing me to come shopping...

We stopped by Mikey Made Me Do It, which was right next to the shopping center. I left the Spring Duckling 2008 Geocoin in this cache container for the next guy.
