I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat

Angie, Celeste, and I took the kids out for some easy geocaching in Magnolia. We actually looked for 3 different geocaches, but only found the one.

It was called I Tawt I Taw a Puddy Tat, and it was a big plastic jar hidden in a little clearing behind a shopping center parking lot. The kids had fun dumping out the jar and choosing their prizes.

Midday Geocaching

Sarah had off from work today and didn't feel like hanging out with me in my office. After lunch, she dragged me out of the office to do some geocaching on the way to pick up the kids early from school.

The first geocache that we found was called It's A Pickle. This one was very easy to find and we had no trouble locating it. It took us less than 2 minutes to find the container after we arrived at the location. However, less than 30 seconds after we found it, a Camden County Sheriff's truck pulled up behind ours. The officer asked us what we were doing all the way on the far edge of the parking lot and explained that the cameras mounted on the building saw us. We showed him the computer print out and the cache container but he still seemed suspicious. After insisting on checking our licenses and car registration info, he came back and told us that we were tresspassing and we needed to leave. He also told us to "take that thing with you" and pointed to the geocache container.

The second geocache that we found today was called I Saw The Sign. It's a relatively new geocache, having only been in place for about 10 days. Still, 13 other people had found it before we did. It was extremely easy to find this one because the container was a black magnetic key holder stuck to a sign.

The last thing we did was drop off the travel bug Locker Key, which we picked up back in January. This thing went from a tiny little keyring to a gigantic blob of keys and key chains. We had it for so long because it was very difficult for us to find a new geocache to accomodate such a large travel bug mass. After realizing that we had it for going on 6 weeks, and with no immediate plans to search for large sized geocaches, I decided to just put it into a nearby container that I'd already found, which was Above The Flood.
